In response to the call to build a China-Central Asia community with a shared future, and to expand exchanges and cooperation between our school and universities in Central Asian countries, the Ministry of Medicine organized a delegation to be invited to visit many institutions in Azerbaijan and the Republic of Kazakhstan from May 31 to June 7, 2023. The university conducts academic exchanges and enrollment promotions. The delegation was led by Professor Xu Xingzhi, Executive Director of the Department of Medicine, and included Professor Chen Xinchun, Deputy Director of the Department of Medicine, and Li Ruoran, Foreign Affairs Secretary of the Department of Medicine. During this trip, our school signed a memorandum of understanding with Azerbaijan’s Khazar University and Kazakhstan National Medical University.

The delegation visited Mr. Zhang Wei, Consul of Science and Technology of the Consulate General of my country in Almaty, on the afternoon of June 5. Consul Zhang pointed out that China and Central Asian countries have now achieved "three full coverages" - full coverage of comprehensive strategic partnership, full coverage of implementing a community with a shared future for mankind at the bilateral level, and full coverage of signing cooperation documents on jointly building the "Belt and Road". China-Kazakhstan relations will continue to flourish, and the consulate will provide all-round support and assistance.

The delegation went to Azerbaijan Khazar University, Azerbaijan National Medical University, Kazakhstan Public Medical University, Ali Farabi Kazakhstan National University and Kazakh National Medical University to conduct academic exchanges, and met with Iralda Khali, President of Azerbaijan Khazar University respectively. Shenzhen University and Ali Farabi Kazakh National University (ranked 150th in the 2023 QS Global University Rankings) signed a memorandum of understanding on May 19, 2023 at the just-opened Consulate General of Kazakhstan in Xi'an. During this visit, the Department of Medicine once again had in-depth exchanges with President Tuimbayev and discussed the possibility of all-round cooperation between the two schools and the opening of international campuses in each other. Principal Tuimebayev and Executive Director Xu Xingzhi issued acceptance letters to the students of the school for the 2023 summer school. The delegation also issued acceptance letters for 2023 summer school and autumn doctoral students to students from Azerbaijan's Khazar University and Kazakhstan National Medical University.

Professor Xu Xingzhi and Professor Chen Xinchun gave special academic reports respectively at the 3rd International Conference on the theme of "One Health" held in Baku, Azerbaijan, and at the 2023 First New Generation Osfin International Academic Forum held in Almaty, Kazakhstan. , received enthusiastic response from teachers and students of the school. We look forward to the full fruition of our comprehensive cooperation with the university clusters of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.
