Khoja Ahmed Yasawi International Kazakh-Turkish University

Khoja Ahmed Yasawi International Kazakh-Turkish University(hereinafter referred to as Ahmed Yasawi University) was established in 1991 under the personal initiative of the head of state Nazarbayev according to an intergovernmental agreement between Kazakhstan and Turkey, with the aim of cultivating students from Turkic-speaking countries of modern highly qualified specialists. Located in the city of Turkestan, the spiritual center of the Turkic world, it became the first university to receive the status of an international higher education institution.

Ahmed Yasawi University is one of the leading multidisciplinary universities in Kazakhstan. As an innovative university that implements modern education and science policies based on the desire for continuous professional growth and personal development, the university ranks in the top ten national university rankings every year (6th in 2018).

The university is one of the international category universities with a "full university" designation, including the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. Ahmed Yasawi University's multi-level education system includes: higher undergraduate and postgraduate education (bachelor, master's degree, residency, internship and doctoral studies).

University admission is carried out on the basis of the Kazakh State Educational Grant, Contract Basis and Turkish Educational Grant (Quota). Students receive training in 155 specializations.

The university has 10 faculties, including the Graduate School of Governance and Economics, a vocational college, 6 research institutes and a dedicated doctoral dissertation committee, with more than 10,000 students, interns, undergraduates, residents and doctoral students in the The school accepts training. time

The university has a corporate governance system unique to Kazakhstan. According to the charter approved by the governments of Kazakhstan and Turkey, the highest governing body is the Intergovernmental Board of Directors (Ankara), which provides the general management of the University on an equal basis and consists of ten members. Five members including the Chairman/Rector are appointed by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and five members are appointed by the Government of Turkey. Funding comes from the budget of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the budget of the Republic of Türkiye.

Ahmed Yasawi University is the first university in the Turkic world to educate young people from 19 countries in the world on cultural dialogue and inter-ethnic tolerance, as a university of great ideological significance in the context of modern globalization . The educational center unites the Turkic-speaking world spiritually.

In May 2007, the University signed a Memorandum of Accession to the Declaration of Bologna, and in September 2010 signed the Magna Carta of the University, the basis of the Declaration of Bologna.

Educational activities cover 76 bachelor's degree programs, 46 master's degree programs, 15 doctoral degree programs, 9 residency programs in the fields of natural, humanitarian, economic, legal, social, medical, technical sciences, education, business, service and arts project and 6 internship projects.

In the 2018-2019 academic year, the school has 74 doctors, 292 doctoral students in science, and 84 doctoral students, of which 5% are foreign tutors from Turkey and other countries. Teaching is conducted in Kazakh, Turkish, Russian and English.
