During the meeting, the two sides discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation in the consular field. Both sides noted the importance of developing new approaches in the cooperation between the two countries in this field.
During the talks, the parties paid particular attention to the improvement of the treaty and legal basis in order to create favorable conditions for mutual travel of citizens and provide additional impetus for bilateral cooperation.
Under such circumstances, Ambassador Nuryshev suggested that China speed up the negotiation of the draft intergovernmental agreement on mutual visa exemption for citizens of the two countries. At the same time, in order to create an effective mechanism to regulate the immigration process between the two countries, the Kazakh ambassador also proposed to carry out corresponding work on signing an agreement on cooperation in the field of immigration.
Wu Xi pointed out the importance of the questions raised by Kazakh diplomats and expressed willingness to further communicate within the scope of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China. Chinese diplomats highly appreciated the measures taken by the Kazakh government to strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges between the two countries, and expressed China's intention to sign an agreement on mutual visa exemption for citizens of the two countries.
At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed that the Kazakh embassy and the Department of Consular Affairs of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs should maintain regular contact in order to further communicate the issues raised during the meeting.
In addition, Kazakhstan's immigration regulations have been updated,The visa-free entry period for foreign citizens is 30 days!
According to the new regulations, foreign citizens who enter Kazakhstan without a visa are allowed to stay for 30 days after entering the country, and the accumulated stay within 180 days (within 6 months) shall not exceed 90 days.
