Qin Gang Attends the Opening Ceremony of the Consulate General of Kazakhstan in Xi'an

On May 19, 2023, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang attended the opening ceremony of the Kazakhstan Consulate General in Xi'an with President Tokayev of Kazakhstan and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Nurtlieu in Xi'an.
In his speech, Tokayev said that the day before yesterday, President Xi Jinping and I held talks with rich contents, which achieved fruitful results and opened a new "golden thirty years" of Kazakhstan-China relations. In recent years, the cooperation and exchanges between Shaanxi Province and Xi'an City and Kazakhstan have become increasingly close. The opening of the Kazakhstan Consulate General in Xi'an is of great significance. It will surely promote bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment, transportation, logistics, and people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and make new contributions to the development of Kazakhstan-China relations.
Qin Gang said that in recent years, under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China-Kazakhstan relations have achieved leapfrog development and reached a high level of permanent comprehensive strategic partnership. This time President Tokayev came to Xi'an to attend the first China-Central Asia Summit and paid a successful state visit to China. President Xi Jinping held in-depth talks with President Tokayev and reached new important consensus. President Xi Jinping also agreed with the Central Asian heads of state to build a closer China-Central Asia community with a shared future. The opening of the Consulate General of Kazakhstan in Xi'an is a new important milestone in the history of Sino-Kazakhstan relations. It will build a new bridge for the friendly exchanges and cooperation between China and Kazakhstan, especially between the western provinces of China and Kazakhstan, and promote the cooperation between China and Kazakhstan. Central Asian countries provide a new window for mutual understanding.
The Consulate General of Kazakhstan in Xi'an is the third consulate general established by Kazakhstan in China and the first consular institution established by a Central Asian country in western China.
